MIDDLE EASTERN MEAT AND OAT SOUP
1 cup Captain Oats® Quick Cook Oatmeal
1/2 kg meat (cubed)
2 onions (chopped)
4 garlic cloves (crushed)
1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
Dried lemon (peeled)
Salt (to taste)
2 tablespoons ghee
1. Add oats to 5 cups water. Bring to boil.
2. Add 1 chopped onion and meat. Cook until meat is tender.
3. In a separate pan, heat ghee. When hot, saute chopped onion, crushed garlic, spices and dried lemon. Remove from pan.
4. Add the sauted ingredients to the soup. Leave to boil for 5 minutes before serving.
